Was to transport a Fresh Chicken Egg from acs house to wherever, and back, without breaking the Egg, amassing as many points as possible along the way over a weekend. Points were awarded for any visit to an airport / ferry port or for any Egg bearing a customs stamp. Bonus points were awarded for any video footage of people in the localities who sent a goodwill message to acs whilst holding the Egg.
Team 1 - Shared Services
Shared Services decided to stick to the basics for the Egg Challenge. We got together and planned a route around the UK based on major point scoring places (i.e. military bases). We did lots of research and it was very enjoyable as we worked together to get where we needed to be – Helen drove, Lucy map read and Claire sign spotted!!
As a group the most enjoyable part of the trip was becoming Fire Ladies in Stockton Heath where we got the chance to meet some real firemen, dress up in all the gear and Claire & Lucy managed to get into the Fire Engine, start it and turn on the Blues & Twos! We had a good few moments of hilarity but they can’t be shared – what went on tour with the egg stays with the egg! We came back early Sunday smelling victory as we were told late Saturday by a very drunk Michael and Stephen that their Egg had been smashed! We did exactly 500 miles around the UK and Wales, we stayed focused and reaped the rewards.”
Congratulations to Claire, Lucy and Helen who won the Egg challenge!
Team 2 - External Sales
A great weekend was had by the Harley Boys and Miss Muse. Germany didn’t know what hit them; “No I am Dennis from acs”. After one night in beautiful Aachen, recommendations to the Byzantium Cathedral, Kolsch and Schnitzels we moved on to Köln. Points were accrued over both days for borders with France, Belgium, Germany and Holland; the team thought that “we have this in the bag”. All was going well until the evening in Köln when the egg killer struck just after midnight and it was game over. Sides were splitting including Eggberts. A fantastic weekend and a smashing time was had by all. Roll on next year – how Eggciting!
