Last Thursday saw the acs boys play Cotters in their first ever competitive game. Dressed for battle in their Brother sponsored shirts, the team prepared to play the first of 20 overs
acs won the toss and chose to field first. The Cotters team was 101 all out with James Walker picking up 3-2 off 2 overs and Josh Winters showing a great performance at 27 N.O.
In reply, acs didn’t get off to the best of starts as they were 7-2 off 2 overs. They needed to re-build the innings but sadly luck wasn’t on their side and things got even worse. Nathan Heads was lost for 11 with Richard Walker for 2 in quick succession.
Soon to follow was Charlie Bridgeford who was caught for 11 and Priyesh Patel was was run out for 0 without facing a ball. With the score only 35-6 with 12 overs to go, acs needed someone to make a big score. Sadly, this never materialised as Skipper Suraj Dholakia was bowled for 0, Mikey Davis caught for 10, James Walker bowled for 1 and last man, Rupert Bulbring, caught for 6. acs was bowled out for 57 with Cotters winning the match with their brilliant bowling performance.
